What would it cost to fix a SieMatic cabinet?

That is invariably the first question you get, and quite understandably. The truth of the matter is, it all depends upon what happens to your kitchen. A hinge that has loosened or a small chip on a door is a fast low-cost repair. A complete refacing of a large kitchen is another discussion. Before we even see the space, we do not toss numbers around since we would rather give you an honest price as opposed to a low price that will be adjusted later. The estimate is free so we can begin there.

Do you have a perfect SieMatic finish?

We haven’t had a case where we couldn’t. SieMatic offers an enormous variety of finishes and a few of them are extremely specific – certain lacquers, certain finishes – but that is precisely what we deal in on a regular basis. We have matched finishes on kitchens installed more than 10 years ago. When we’re done, the repaired area looks like the rest of the kitchen. That is the entirety.

What’s the difference between refacing and refinishing?

Refacing involves replacing your cabinet doors and drawer fronts, but not the cabinet boxes themselves. So the building remains, the appearance is different. Refinishing is our work on the surfaces you already have– strip them back and put a new coat on them in a new color or finish. Both cost less than a quarter of a replacement. Which one will make sense will depend on what your kitchen currently looks like. We can tell you on the phone which way to go, particularly, when you describe it to us.

What is the time taken in the work?

On smaller items – a broken hinge, a hardware repair, a scratch – typically one trip and it is fixed. Most typical kitchens require us three to five days to complete a full refacing. We will inform you of the schedule before we begin and we keep to it. We know you’re living in that space and we don’t drag things out.

Are you employed in NYC apartments and co-ops?

Yes, and a good deal of our work is in buildings like that. We are familiar with the routine – construction management, elevator reservations, limited working hours. We’ve done it hundreds of times. We enter, work, clean and exit. The type of work at which your neighbors do not know anything.

Is it possible to repair only one door and not the entire kitchen?

Of course. Individuals request us to do single doors, one drawer which does not close properly, a handle which has fallen off, everything. You do not have to have a complete project to collaborate with us. When one thing is broken we will repair that thing.

Do you have certification to work on SieMatic in particular?

Yes. We are certified technicians and have more than 15 years working on SieMatic kitchens. Our SieMatic components are real parts – not imitations that resemble but are not the same. In case your kitchen was constructed to a particular standard, then the repair needs to be as well.
